Firstly he anticipated the shot to his left, dived full-length, got hold of the ball and then threw down the stumps catching Ross Taylor short. He is dismissed for 10 runs of 14 balls, New Zealand are in deep trouble now
At the end of 15 overs New Zealand are at 88/4 .Mitchell Santner 11(13) and corey anderson 34(39) are at the crease. India ihas bowled well so far, corey anderson is the dangerman now and India would be do well to try to dismiss him
Wicket – Corey Anderson has been dismissed, Bumrah bowled a yorker on middle stump and Anderson tries a ramp but misses and Bumrah hits. This is the wicket India needed. Looks like they will struggle to reach even 130 – 140

The first innings is concluded and New Zealand finish their Innings at 126/7, They never looked in control of the innings from the starting itself and continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, and then the indian spinners did a tremendous job of containing them.

We bowled really well as a unit. The wicket was pretty slow. We planned to bowl dot balls. This total is decent and we need to bat well. When you are chasing 126, you need to rotate the strike and hopefully our batsmen will do it. If I get the chance with the bat, I will win it for Team India.”
Well The chase is definitely going to be an exciting one as New Zealand are playing 3 spinners, and the pitch is definitely assisting the spinners. Though it would be interesting to see how New Zealand spinners perform against the Indian side who thrive in such condition.

India lost the match by 47 runs
India was defeated in it’s own game today, spin which was supposed to be their strength proved to be their undoing today. India batsmen lacked application as they looked like street cricketers against the spin attack and no body apart from Kohli & Dhoni did anything.

Wicket – New Zealand have got the early wicket they needed Dhawan dismissed for 1. LBW by McCullum. It seems that the strategy of using spin is paying off.
